What the check looks at.
Eight things any visitor or search engine notices first. None of them needs a technical background to understand.
Secure connection
Browsers label sites without it as not secure, and many visitors leave when they see that warning.
Set up for phones
Many visitors arrive on a phone. Without this tag the page can show up tiny and hard to tap.
Page title
The title is the headline people see in search results, so it helps decide whether they click.
Search description
It is the short summary under your title in search results. Without one, Google picks its own.
Main heading
One clear main heading tells visitors and search engines what the page is about.
Visit reports
Without a visit counter you cannot tell how many people come, or which pages bring the calls.
Sitemap
A sitemap is a list of your pages. It helps Google find all of them.
Search listing details
These details tell Google things like your address and hours, so your listing can show more.
Questions people ask.
Is the website check really free?
Yes. There is nothing to pay and no account to make. You only share your email if you would like a person on our team to send you notes.
What does the check look at?
Your home page, from the outside. It looks for a secure connection, a mobile setting, a page title and search description, a main heading, a visit counter, a sitemap and search listing details. It also makes a best guess at what the site is built on.
Does it check my whole website?
No. It reads the home page and a standard file or two, such as the sitemap. A person on our team can go deeper if you ask.
How sure is the platform guess?
It is a good guess based on what the page shows, so we say it looks like WordPress or Shopify and never that it is. Some sites hide it, and some are custom built.
What if some checks say needs work?
Many of these are small fixes, such as adding a search description or a visit counter. A few, like a site you cannot edit or an old platform, point to a rebuild. Our guide on whether your website is holding you back helps you decide.
Will someone contact me?
Only if you send us your email. Then a real person on our team reads your report and replies within one business day.
Does the check work for any kind of business?
Yes. It looks at the same basics on a restaurant site, a law firm site or an online store. We are a Los Angeles studio, and we are glad to look at sites from anywhere.
