Remote Collaboration
for Video Teams.
Your editors should not be limited by geography. We design and implement remote workflows that give your team full access to studio-grade media from anywhere - securely, reliably, and without the usual chaos.
Design My Remote Workflow →There is no one-size-fits-all remote workflow.
The right approach depends on your team size, internet speeds, budget, and the type of work being done. We assess your situation and build the right combination for you.
Remote Desktop Streaming
Best for: VFX, Color, AudioTools: Teradici / HP Anyware, Parsec
The editor's workstation stays in the studio. They connect remotely and interact with the full machine over an encrypted stream. Zero files leave the facility - the editor sees pixels, not footage.
Bandwidth requirement
50+ Mbps symmetric recommended
Advantages
- ◆No file transfer required
- ◆Full workstation performance
- ◆TPN-compliant by design
- ◆Works with any software
Considerations
- ◆Requires reliable, low-latency internet
- ◆Per-seat licensing cost
- ◆Studio workstation must stay on
Proxy Workflow + VPN
Best for: Editing, FinishingTools: WireGuard / OpenVPN, Frame.io, Premiere Pro
Editors download lightweight proxy files and cut on their own machines. The full-resolution media stays on your NAS. Final export is done on-site or via direct NAS access over VPN.
Bandwidth requirement
10+ Mbps download for proxy files
Advantages
- ◆Low bandwidth requirements
- ◆Works offline
- ◆Any internet connection
- ◆Low cost per seat
Considerations
- ◆Requires proxy generation setup
- ◆Final conform must happen on-site or over VPN
- ◆File management discipline needed
Cloud NLE / Storage
Best for: Teams 5+Tools: LucidLink, EditShare Cloud, Resolve Cloud
Project files and media live in cloud storage that behaves like a local drive. Editors mount it, work natively, and changes sync automatically. No NAS required on-site.
Bandwidth requirement
500+ Mbps upload at the studio end
Advantages
- ◆True remote-first workflow
- ◆No physical NAS to maintain
- ◆Scales on demand
- ◆Good for distributed teams
Considerations
- ◆Monthly storage costs scale with capacity
- ◆Requires consistent upload bandwidth at studio
- ◆Latency can affect real-time playback
Pre-release content requires a different standard.
Remote access to unreleased footage, unfinished cuts, and client deliverables is a serious liability if done carelessly. Every remote workflow we build is designed with TPN content security principles from the start - not bolted on after.
Studios that need TPN Gold Shield certification can use our remote collaboration setup as documented evidence of security controls - covering access logging, encryption, and user isolation requirements.
Learn about TPN Certification →Encrypted Tunnels
All remote sessions use TLS 1.3 or WireGuard encryption. No unencrypted traffic ever leaves your facility.
IP Allowlisting
Editor access is restricted to approved IP addresses or VPN endpoints. No open-internet access to NAS or workstations.
Session Logging
Every remote session is logged with timestamps, IP, and user identity. Required for TPN Gold Shield audits.
MFA Enforcement
Multi-factor authentication on all remote access tools. Compromised passwords alone cannot breach your studio.
Role-Based Access
Editors see only the projects they are assigned. Freelancers never have access to the full NAS.
Session Timeout
Automatic session termination after inactivity. Idle connections cannot be hijacked.
Built for production teams of every size.
Post-Production Studios
Remote colorists, sound mixers, and finishing editors - each with isolated access to only their project files.
VFX & Animation Teams
Render farm access, plate review, and compositing workflows that keep VFX artists connected to on-site compute.
Music Video Production
Director review, editor feedback rounds, and delivery without requiring everyone in the same room.
Independent Editors
Work-from-home setups that give freelance editors access to client-hosted media without exposing the NAS.
